Mission Statement
Imagine Zero Weld County is a collaboration of government agencies, community-based organizations, non-profit organizations and concerned community members with the goal of suicide prevention. We provide outreach, education, prevention resources, and identify strategies for local implementation.
Brief History
Imagine Zero of Weld County (IZWC) began in August 2018 when multiple non-profits dedicated to preventing suicide decided to team up and harness their passion and energy. Many of our collaborating organizations were born out of personal loss of loved ones to suicide, and now strive to prevent suicide and offer support to those who have experienced a similar loss. Dedicated community members and organizations who feel the same passion help to complete our unique collaboration. Together, we can accomplish more than as individuals. Since the inception of IZWC, we have formed three committees to tackle the challenge of suicide in Weld County.
Priorities
Our goal is to promote suicide education and awareness and to reduce the stigma surrounding suicide. The IZWC Coalition determines priority populations to put our focus on and also provides guidance for event planning and sustainability. Members participate in other community coalitions and work to distribute suicide prevention materials. Other key activities are fundraising, hosting monthly community meetings, offering educational opportunities by hosting events and distributing information for parents and teens.
